I bought these two plates from two seperate dealers two years apart. They were both dug by Dr. Floyd McRae of Atlanta,Georgia back in 1970 the same day! Both plates are marked,in red, by the doctor on the reverse "Big Black River,Miss.Feb.21,1970".Nice to have two plates dug the same day 40 years ago by the same person. Both plates retain both wire loops although one loop on the boxplate is bent inward slightly. Both plates have 97% lead remaining.A couple small rim dings on the boxplate but a nice face. Both for $325.00

Nice eagle breastplate with a superb dark chocolate patina. This was dug at Liberty Gap,Tennessee.98% lead remaining on the reverse with most of the two loops remaining.Slight wave on rim with complete face.Displays great. $155.00

Once again, through some horse trading,I'm pleased to offer this item. Fine example of an early militia crossbelt plate. Dug on the battlefield in Munfordville Ky. ages ago by a well known digger who's name will be given to the new owner. Good , strong solid condition with remnants of the four hooks remaining on the reverse. You know this one actually "saw the show". $135.00

Here is the rarer Ohio made cartridge box plate with the brass loops. This one was intentionally bent into this position. The only person who knows why was the soldier who did it!!A little rough but the "US" is complete and still retains 90% of the lead on back.Retains one full brass wire loop that is seperated in the middle and half of the other one. This was recovered at Hoovers Gap,Tennessee $70.00

UBK22.

Baby box plate dug in Murfreesboro,Tn.Nice dark patina.Could be sent to Robert and would look great repaired and add to it's value.Priced accordingly. $125.00

Very nice model 1851 enlisted man's sword belt plate. The best dark chocolate patina throughout that I've seen for awhile. Missing wreath, as usual. Very low bench mark of "28" on the tounge. Very nice body curve. No breaks, cracks or dings on this one. Dug at Fredericksburg, Virginia. $275.00

UBK19.
Very nice State of New York buckle that was recovered from a shipwreck.Alot of SNY's were brought up from the federal supply shipwreck but nearly all are missing the thin brass face that was destroyed by the salt water. This one has it's complete brass face!!Missing hooks on back but retains full lead.Displays great. $395.00

UBK18.
Very nice box plate dug at Resaca Georgia.Missing the wire loops but retains 95% of the lead on the reverse.Clear "US".Comes in a nice Rikar case with a brass plate that reads:"US box plate.Dug at Resaca Ga." $145.00

UBK7.

US box plate in dug condition. Wire loops on the reverse are long gone but full lead on back and a nice US on the face. Took a severe blow by something sharp on the rim at the four o'clock position. Some would tell you it's a sabre blow...maybe so, but it could have been farmer Brown's tractor disc as well. Remember the old saying..."Buy the relic, not the story"! An honest example. $125.00

UBK2.

Federal eagle breastplate in very good condition. Pleaseing face with no nicks or dings. Eagle has high relief with great detail. Reverse has full lead. As usual the loops have deteriorated away. Pretty buckle.$150.00
