Here's something different. The dealer I bought this from said it is a gate weight from an old soldiers home in Kentucky and that it is made from a 6 pound solid shot cannon ball. It's the right size but I'm selling it as a relic from an old soldiers home. Cool old relic. $75.00
Very nice and well balanced, wicked fighting knife.Everything about this knife tells us it was period made. The heavy guard was removed from a foot officers sword and a nice, lighter "S" guard was added. They took some time and skill making this one.The "S" guard is recessed in to the brass so it is flush. The 13 inch salt and pepper blade, with no fuller,is in strong, stable condition.19 inches over all with a polished appearance wood grip that is tight and solid. No wobble here.Ornate pommel cap that is tight and solid as well.Better than most "cut downs" you see! $495.00
I love these oddities! Union arrow hook buckle recovered at Liberty Gap,Tennessee by Dwayne Davis in 1999. This is the 1862 style with the hooks riveted to the tounge portion. As you can see the hooks were slid too close togather when the lead was poured. This would have wallowed out a large single hole in the belt which would not hold very well.Probably why it was abanded.Retains 95% lead on reverse.Bold US with a greenish and chocolate patina.Cool relic! $195.00
Thick, beveled edge Confederate frame buckle recovered in the Shiloh,Tennessee area.Nice dark patina throughout.Measures 53X62 MM.One edge slightly pushed inward as you can see.A slight stress crack in one corner but it does not go all the way through the metal.Stable condition. $485.00
Very nice condition red artillery hat cord.Still has the two ties on the full tassels.Great shape! $55.00
Very nice and extremely RARE ball pouch for the British Brunswick rifle. The 6th Mass. were outfitted with these accouterments as the pictures show. Some Confederates as well. The well respected dealer I bought this from has only seen two and the other one sold for 1200 plus! The cool thing about these is the cap pocket is on the inside of the pouch.Body and front flap have a rounded profile roughly six by four and a half inches.Interior cap pouch is 3X2 inches.Retains both belt loops, brass finial, latch tab and cap pocket. There is a small two inch tare in the bottom of the pouch that can only be seen if the pouch is pulled apart like an accordion.Leather is supple and has only minor crazing in a couple places.Very scarce item that is rarely seen on the market.Displays great! $695.00
Navy pistol cartridge box for .36 caliber.Well worn but still retains latch tab, brass finial, both side ears, single belt loop and inner flap.Missing the inner pouch as a lot of these are.Stuffed with old newspaper and stitching has come apart down one side as you can see."USN" embossed on outer flap and "Navy Yard N.Y. 1864" stamped in an oval on inner flap.Still a good civil war dated item for under 100 bucks! $95.00
Very nice wooden tompion for the 58 caliber Springfield musket. These are getting harder to find. $65.00
Heart shaped martingale dug in Richmond,Virginia.Perfect for a Confederate cavalry display.A little concave in shape. The upper left tip was broke off and in the hole when dug.The digger did a great job of reapplying it.Full lead on the reverse except on the very tip and a small spot on the rim.Measures 2.75" X 2.75".Displays great! $185.00
Model 1832 short artillery sword with scabbard.Nice salt and pepper blade with an even nicer cast brass handle and guard.Eagle on the pommel cap and the fish scales are in great shape. The markings on the blade are obscured but we know this is an 1835 produced sword because that was the only year that the two inspectors,Henry Knox Craig and Justin Murphy, both inspected this sword according to the Ames records. Both their initials can clearly be seen on the brass guard.Scabbard still retains brass throat but ,as you can see, the tip of the leather scabbard broke off ages ago.Tight construction with no wobble.Displays great! $655.00
Musket parts from blockade runner "Modern Greece".The "Modern Greece" was run aground by blockaders on Cape Fear by Wilmington,N.C. on 27 June,1862.The ship was carrying weapons, lead, cookware, uniforms and liquor from England. The muskets were most likely Enfields or possibly Whitworths. These pieces were recovered by Col. Howland Taft in the 1960's. $45.00
Cool early cap box with the large, squared outer flap.Retains belt loops, side ears, latch tab, brass finial and inner and outer flap but the soldier tore out the wool. The neat thing about this one is that it was pierced several times on the back by a triangular socket bayonet.Who knows why but the fellow who did it has been gone for 100 years or so.Leather is in good shape. $165.00
Very nice saber bayonet for the British two band Enfield rifled musket.Nice grips and spring still works. $170.00

Civil war leather flap holster with brass finial still present.Appears to have held a .36 caliber Colt Navy by the outline in the leather.Flap is missing the latch tab but you can see where they rigged a period leather strap to take the finial.Crazing throughout but the flap is still pliable.A small open crack on the top edge of the holster that would be above the barrel.Still retains belt loop. Open tip of holster.Would look great displayed with a Colt Navy! $350.00

Rare, unfired 3.67" Hotchkiss shell. This shell was found under an old house in Murfreesboro Tennessee. This rare example is without flame grooves since it was a percussion fuzed shell. The iron is in very good condition since it was under a house and never exposed to the elements or ground action. The iron has a wonderful dark patina. The lead sabot also shows us that it was never exposed to alot of moisture or ground action. There is some minor chipping around the fuze hole. This shell bears the rare Hotchkiss patent info on the base cup. It's very feint but can be seen around the edge. A small piece of the internal plunger fuze assembly is rolling around on the inside.
