Confederate belt buckle dug by Paul Clippa near Fort Donelson.This buckle has the same hook configuration as the pewter C.S.A.This style buckle was manufactured out of lead and then coated with pewter.The score lines for the hook configuration can still be seen.Many knowledgeable dealers believe this style was made by Noble Brothers,Rome,Georgia.Good,solid,strong condition with the tongue and part of one hook remaining.Slight body curve.Buckle measures roughly 76X50 mm.If the economy wasn't in the crapper this buckle would normally go for five and some change.Priced accordingly at $425.00

This circa 1810 cross belt plate was converted into a buckle.You can see where an iron nail was drivin through where the tounge once was.Recovered in Fairfax Virginia at a Confederate staging area.Typical of those used in the war of 1812 period.
